A Song in Your Heart by Vivian

“You can have a song in your heart in the night. After every trial, after every mile. Anyone can sing when the sun’s shining bright. But you need a song in your heart at night.” (You Can Have a Song in Your Heart by El Slavens and Ira Stanphill)

When difficult times have come to me, a song from my past comes to my mind and soothes my soul. As I have reflected on the hymns and choruses that have lead me thru life, many are actually from the Psalms.

PRAISE

Psalm 89 proclaims “O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth.”

PROTECTION

Psalm 18:2 “The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; my God, my strength in whom I will trust.”

Psalm 27:1. “The Lord is my light and my salvation. Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life. Of whom shall I be afraid?”

COMFORT

Psalm 30:5b. “Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.”

Psalm 46:10-11. “Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth. The Lord of hosts

is with us, The God of Jacob is our refuge.”

DESIRE

Psalm 42 “As the deer pants for the water brooks so pants my soul for you O God.”

Psalm 51:10 “Create in me a clean heart, O God andrenew a steadfast spirit within me.”

AFFIRMATION

Lamentations 3:22-23 “Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning. Great is your faithfulness.”

Psalm 16:11b “In your presence is fullness of joy; At your right hand are pleasures forever.”

I hope as you read the scriptures, beautiful songs will encourage you on your faith journey.
