Have you ever asked yourself; Is it well with my soul? How would I feel if I walked with the disciples following Jesus?

I have spent time in meditation pondering those questions. A dear sister of the spirit created this moving picture of Jesus, causing a deep, visceral reaction in my heart…..I share it with you in this piece hoping that it might speak to you as well as you sit with it this month.

Beloved Lord, I gaze upon your holy countenance

Trying to imagine how it would have felt

Walking by your side thousands of years ago 

As you made your way toward

A triumphant return to Jerusalem….

Would I have understood your message?

Would I have offered you comfort?

Would I have denied you?  Would I have betrayed you?

Would I have loved you?

Those answers forever lost  to all but you….

However

These same questions have become a guide 

For my spiritual journey today….

Have I shared your message of love with others today?

Have I offered comfort to my brothers and sisters today?

Have I confirmed your presence in my life today?

Have my actions been true to your teachings today?

Have I loved you with a fiery spirit today?

With your grace and counsel 

The answer will be yes…….
